COVID-19 Policies for the 2020 Tax Season

Dear Valued Clients,

With the pandemic changing the way we all do business, HGA/Taxsense® has spent the last few months developing safe ways to provide you quality service while continuing to help you “Keep More of What You Earn.” For several years, we’ve had the technology in place to offer this, but it was primarily used by long distance clients. Last March, many clients who filed after the shut-down embraced the paperless process. We will continue this for all clients for the 2020 Tax Season. 2020 Tax Process: Our Secure Portal

For those who may not be familiar with our secure portal, it is a safe way to send and receive documents with TaxSense.

1. Your Organizer Checklist

Instead of mailing, we are providing a digital copy of your organizer checklist through your secure portal account. You can still check off the documents on the digital file with your mouse instead of a pencil. You can also print out the two pages if you prefer.

You will receive an email from info@taxsense.com notifying you that the organizer is in your secure portal account. If you don’t already have a one, we will set up an account for you when we send the organizer, as long as we have an email on file.

You can also access our portal by using the QR code below. Simply hover your cellphone camera or QR reader app over the QR code. Follow the link to securefilepro.com. Log into TaxSense®'s secure portal, then download your organizer, and start collecting your tax documents!

2. Your Tax Documents

We encourage you to utilize our secure portal to upload documents. We understand this may be new for a few clients. Our admin team is available to assist you or offer an alternative method of getting your tax documents to us. Directions for our secure portal are also available on our website.

3. Your Tax Return

When your tax return is complete, you will be notified that your return is available in the secure portal. The process to download and review your return is straightforward, but our administrative team is available online and via phone to assist you.

Meetings with our Team Members

If you want to meet with a member of our staff, you can do so either via phone or Zoom (webcam). For everyone’s safety, we will not have in-person meetings. As many people’s schedules have changed, we did not set pre-scheduled appointments this year. We are offering two types of meetings this year. You can meet with a member of our admin team for help with the secure portal, completing our online 2020 tax questions, and with assistance throughout the tax return process. If you want to meet with your tax preparer, please contact the office (email, call, or text) to schedule an appointment.

1. Signing E-File Forms

This year we’re excited to announce that we added the ability to digitally sign your e-file forms online! No need to print out or mail!! Our pilot tests have gone very well, but if you have concerns, please remember we’re here to help. Please contact our admin team with questions you have regarding e-file forms.

2. Text TaxSense®

Send text messages to TaxSense® at 781-230-6068 to communicate with us (non-sensitive information only). Text our office to request an appointment, the 2020 Tax Questions, or our Secure Portal Link. Please do NOT text any personal information, such as social security or bank account numbers.

3. Making payments to TaxSense®

Many of you used Bill.com last year. We are continuing to offer this and expanding our payment methods to include Venmo (@TaxSense).

Some Things Will Stay the Same

Our experienced team of tax preparers has not changed. We still offer the same quality tax preparation you’ve come to expect from us. We realize for those of you who had your tax return done pre-COVID shutdown this is a bit different, but it is necessary for the health and wellbeing of both our clients and staff. It is essential that we remain vigilant during these challenging and historic times. If you still have concerns, please call or email us.
