COVID-19 Update: 2019 Tax Season

Last updated: June 4, 2020

Dear Valued Clients,

As of June 1, 2020, our office hours for client return drop-off are Tuesday and Thursday from 11am to 1pm. General calls will also be answered during these times.

For general questions or return status, info@taxsense.com is being monitored each weekday.

Preparers are working remotely to complete tax returns and can also be reached via email.  Completed returns will be mailed or sent securely through our portal based on your preference.

Thank you for your understanding during these challenging times.

As of March 20, 2020, Tax filing has been extended to July 15th as well as the payment Deadline. As of March 27, 2020 Massachusetts extended the filing deadline until July 15, 2020 to match federal filing. See below* for additional state filing deadlines.

Please contact us if you have specific questions. Click here for additional help for business owners.

Over the last couple of weeks, not an hour has passed without an announcement about diagnoses, closures, quarantines, remote working, and numerous other changes to our normal daily lives due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.  At Henderson, Grealis/TaxSense, our number one concern is the health of our employees and clients, and by extension, your families and friends.

Thank you to those of you who have already filed. If you have a Federal balance due, you have an additional 90 days (July 15, 2020)  to make any payments.

For clients who have returns in process or have not yet come in, please make note of the following changes to our office operations for our staff, and for our individual and business tax clients effective immediately:

  1. Office Hours: Our hours of operation for client interaction will be from 9AM to 2PM on Monday through Friday.
  2. Office Staffing: All of our staff have been given the option of working remotely.  There may be staff  to pick-up/drop-off documents at our offices, but it will be their choice.  Please call ahead to confirm.
  3. Client Interactions:  To lower the physical contact we have with clients during this crisis, we are limiting face-to-face client meetings as much as possible.  Therefore we are asking that clients either mail in their tax documents, drop them off, or post them to the portal (see link below).  For completed returns, we would prefer mailing these out to you, and/or again delivering through the portal.  Any discussions regarding your tax filings can be done over the telephone, or during a Zoom online meeting.  For anyone with scheduled appointments, we will be reaching out to you with options based on our new office hours and circumstances.
  4. IRS Filing Extension:  As of this writing, the IRS has extended the due date for tax payments without penalties or interest to July 15th.  While all our resources are being extremely stretched due to this ongoing crisis, we will work closely with you and keep you informed of the latest tax filing rule changes as they may apply to your particular situation.  Because of the crisis, tax extensions may be required, and again we will notify you if that will apply to you, and what steps, if any, you need to perform.

As the crisis situation continues to develop, we will reach out to you for updates.  Please feel free to contact our offices with any questions you may have.
